ORD - Chicago O’Hare Intl Airport

Orchard Field was the first name of the airport. Renamed ”O’Hare International Airport" in 1949 to honor Edward O'Hare, Medal of Honor recipient in World War II. The IATA code remained unchanged, being one of the rare airport's three-letter designation with no connection to the airport name or metropolitan area.
